I forgot to mention that the the current iOS for your iPhone is 14.2. I suggest that you update your iPhone 11 to iOS 14.2.

If you can't do this via iTunes because of the problems you have, do it via WiFi. Make sure that you are in a strong WiFi environment in your home, have the iPhone on charge, Open Settings > General > Software Update and proceed from there.

Once you have done that, try connecting to your iMac/iTunes again - having previously rebooted the iMac.

Looking at it all again, I guess I won’t be upgrading the OS...yet. Which means I can retain my Office 2008 for a while.

As well as your critical, in my opinion, and as you said: "My Harmony," for my Logitech remote...that matters more.

But you may have a solution for accessing your Logitech Harmony remote with their new 64-bit app “Harmony Desktop” for Catalina & Big Sur if and when you might upgrade - but not advisable if not using a pure SSD as mentioned by many.

PS: Do any of the later Mac OS Versions have any features that you really cannot work without??? Somehow I doubt it, and personally, I prefer to have a Mac that just runs without problems, even if it's OS version is well out of date.
