Just got back from the Apple store (interesting being there with all the iPhone people...at least they had a separate line for those purchasing computers...was in and out of there in 1 hour)... bought my MacBook.

2.4 ghz
2G Ram
160 HD
Superdive
etc., etc

I haven't had the computer plugged in for more than 10 minutes... I am in LOVE!!! :) Microsoft who??? I am already hooked up to my wireless network, have mobile me set-up, etc., etc. I am going to refer to this computer as the "brunette" and my pc notebook as the "dumb blonde" :)

The keyboard is a little different than a PC... I think it is the spacing between the keys??? I am making typos left and right :)

How do I password protect the computer?? I thought it would prompt me for a password when I restarted because it asked me for a password during setup.

Thanks everyone for your advice over the past several weeks!!!

Congratulations for your Macbook :)

You should be able to do that under the System Preferences section (available from the Dock). There you should see Security and Accounts sections.

But I reckon to set up your password it would be under Accounts. Sorry I don't remember exactly and I can't try myself as I'm using a PC since my Macbook is back to the Apple store

Congratulations on the Macbook! my iMac arrived on friday and i'm feeling the same way as you!

I like the keyboard. The only problem is the @ symbol and " are switched - like on an american keyboard, and not a british pc keyboard.

I also can't seem to find the hash key! lol, if anyone could help..

Congrats on the purchase!

To Password Protect your Mac:

Click on the Apple menu (top Left) 
Click on System Preferences
Click on Security (Its on the top row in System Preferences)
Tick Disable automatic login
You might also want to tick the option that requires a password after the screen saver has been activated.

I would put a password on each account except for the guest account which can be done from System Preferences > Accounts, click the lock at the bottom corner so you can make changes, then make all the changes you want!
