As infrequently as we saw him around, it must have been AOL.

Bob, shame on you! You said the A word! :D

I will never forget AOL. Used it for my family at one point when I lived with them. It was SO BAD I got my own account with Netcom at the time. Same connect rate but much faster. Must have been their network. Very congested.

Goobie, Welcome to the world of High Speed Internet! So glad you made it! :D

 I take it back and apologize to the unit. Forgot for a moment that we're not allowed to swear on this forum.

I had aohell here in canada for a few years because i lived in a apartment that still used an antenna on the roof for tv. So no cable and dsl over the phone was discouraged because the phone lines we had werernt up to the task.

Last year a good friend of mine from down the street went to India to shoot a Movie about India for some friends of ours from India. He took his Compaq lappy and said that most of the Internet he ran into was pretty slow. He gave me the name but I forget. He brought back some cool pics though of many villages of India.

I believe most of the internet he used was dialup, but said in one town they gave him a PCMCIA card of some sort to get on the net.

I really wish I would have had the time and $$$ to travel there with him as I LOVE Indian food. I would have been in heaven except for some of the internet he talked about.

Well now that we've got the broadband thing sorted out, you can finally make that trip here! After all, food and lodging is taken care of by the Alvares family :). (And this goes out to all you other freaks out here at M-F :) )

I'm from Goa btw, quite a big holiday destination.
