Huge header

Help! I have been trying to get rid of a huge header on only one page of a document created in word for mac, 2011. Can anyone help? The headers are properly formatted to .5 so the distance from the top of the page is perfect, but the space between the text on the page itself and the header is huge. Its my dissertation and I am at my wits end

From the Word 2011 top menu: Format, Paragraph, Indents and Spacing. Set the space here. You might have to do it for each line of the header and for the blank space. Just highlight the area you wish to change. Works for me for my documents.

The issue here, as chscag notes, is likely paragraph spacing. Make sure that the spacing before the text is set to 0 (using the info chscag provided).
