How to pause changing photo screensaver

My photos are set to change every 5 seconds but I do I pause on any one picture. Many thanks

I asked the same a couple of years ago. I thought that there might be a Terminal hack, but there wasn't.

If you were using a 3rd party tool, then that's different, but what is built into macOS I imagine is a simple countdown timer (and 5 seconds is ridiculous BTW) that changes the desktop.
