This app is driving me crazy. Keeps popping up trying to back up. I haven't paid for or used it for three years. I can't find out how to get rid of it. At least stop the pop ups

Have you visited the developers website…and see if they have info on how to uninstall?

Hello - are you talking about the online backup service called Carbonite HERE? If so, this is a paid service and you should be getting billed - I use it on my wife's iMac as a secondary online backup of her personal files - there is a panel in 'System Preferences' (at the bottom) that permits adjustments; also again if we are referring to the same thing, visit their website, as already suggested. Dave :)

Better late than never...

I just discovered that I get a "Server Not Found" for the URL I posted. I've also been bothered by one item among all the papers I keep shuffling around my desk since 12/20/14! I haven't tried it yet, but I will as soon as I get caught up. If you try it, please let us know your level of success. The link:

I see that some of the references in this article go back several years and deal with Snow Leopard. This just may be too outdated for you, but it can't hurt to take a look.

Good Luck!

Look in Users & Groups for a login item.
Look in /Library/LaunchAgents and/or /Library/LaunchDaemons for a .plist for it.
If all else fails look in /Library/StartupItems.
Probably somewhere launchctl has a .plist that's starting it.
Might even look in ~/LibraryLaunchAgents and ~/Library/LaunchDaemons.
