Yes, they should.
The Trooper said:The box sets are for people who don't want to go through the trouble of taping the program themselves. Also, they're guaranteed a high quality version with no skips because of commercials, and no annoying watermarks put there by the television network.
There is also no law that forces you to go and work for money, when you could just rob a bank instead... but you don't do that do you?The Trooper said:Yes, but there's no law that forces us to pay for what we can get for free if we have a TV, a VCR, and a cable or satellite subscription (if necessary).

Let's not go there. Now you're comparing taping something off TV which has already been paid for broadcast by the network who in turn have been paid for allowing commercials, to theft. Trust me, you don't want to get involved with me in an argument about that, because you just can't win.Aptmunich said:There is also no law that forces you to go and work for money, when you could just rob a bank instead... but you don't do that do you?
They've already been paid for. A television network has to pay the original creators of a television show or movie for the right to broadcast it.I'm not saying I completely support current copyright laws either, but the fact remains that certain products need to be paid for in order for them to be provided.
Assuming your favourite shows are available without a cable subscription, you don't have to pay a cent. And both the network and the original creators still make money. If no one pays for TV and no one buys the DVD, why bother making "the simpsons" at all?
