How to connect external display from DVI to USB 3 adapter to a Macbook M1 Air Big Sur?

Hey,

I have a Macbook M1 Air with Big Sur.

I have a StarTech.com 4-Port USB-C Hub with Power Adapter Hub USB C 4 Port - C to C & A - USB 3.0 - USB 3.0 Hubs

I have connected my LogiLink UA0232 USB C to DVI adapter from my external display to my StarTech.com 4-Port USB-C Hub.

But when i turn on my external displays it simply displays no signal found and my Macbook M1 with Big Sur will not detect it.

Any advice on how to fix?

It sounds like hey call to the LogiLink support techs is in order. Give them a call for help or suggestions.

My Mini M1 experience suggests that external displays are more likely to work when using DisplayPort than HDMI/DVI. My Mini M1 drives one HDMI monitor. I use a Club 3D USB-C hub with a DisplayPort output and an HDMI output, but only the DisplayPort will get my Asus monitors to work. I drive a third monitor using a Vantec USB-3 Display Link adapter to DisplayPort.
