Hi,

I'm a litlle bit lost.

I want to connect a macbook pro mid-2012 13inch to a Imac mid-2007 21 inch as monitor. Is it possible ?

If yes which cable I have to use please?

Thank you for your support,

Regards

That iMac, no doubt, has served you well but it is now an ancient piece of machinery that won't run any recent (and secure) version of macOS. If you really wanted to keep it around, you could go down the route of installing Linux on it or something.

But in lieu of all that, you might want to take it down to your local recycling place and have them safely recycle the machine.

That' s really a good idea, time to go back to linux :), maybe for my 2012 macbook pro.

After these discussions I had a look at the second-hand market I saw I can find powerfull 2020's mackbbok pro in a nice range of price.

So maybe it's time to update my gear :)

The "Apple Silicon" M1 based Mac's Apple has been releasing over the last 18 months or so...are a significant improvement over even the previous/last model Intel based Mac's!:)

Yes the M1 seems mindblowing, I see there are some second-hand 2020 macbook pro 16 with 32 GO and 1T SSD for around 1 369$...

sounds great

Are you sure you're looking at M1 16" MacBook Pro's?

When I check eBay...they're selling for a lot more...and that's with 16GB RAM. M1 13" MacBook Pro's are selling closer to $1369.

Maybe you have a great local source to purchase from.:)

Yes, this is an intel one.

Maybe not powerfull as an M1 but when I seee 16 inch screen, 32 Go RAM and 1T SSD.

It seems a great opportunity
