I'm thinking about re-partitioning my hard drive (getting rid of the Windows partition for good) and I want to back up everything on my Mac (applications, preferences, settings etc.).
Could I just copy my entire home folder to an external hard drive then copy it back over once I finish the partition and reinstall of OSX (10.4)? And if so, how? Would I need to log in with a different user account with admin rights then copy it over?
