It's a late 2015 model, usually manufactures do like 5 years warranty on screens, but yeah... Apple do not. Images are being easily burnt into the screen after a few mins, and it's getting worse and worse. It only seems to affect the edges mainly, and the colours are slightly off around the edge.

If it's too expensive from Apple, is there any place I can buy one? The specs are a 6700K or whatever it is, with 16GB of ram, 500GB nvme and a 395X AMD. I'm happy with the specs and it performs really fast so I have no reason to buy a new one, so I'm hoping I can get a replacement screen.

Hi Feriluce, Welcome to our forum; there are lots of highly informed members to get answers from, so enjoy. I am getting discolouration in both bottom corners of my 2018 iMac 21.5 inch model. I am told it is accumulation of dust and is a regular thing to happen on the iMac. I am also told it requires the screen to be split from the desk top, not a job for the casual repairer. Other better informed members will probably have a more in depth answer for you.

Regards from Keith in Derby England.

This is how you replace the display on the 2015 iMac. The replacement will run you around $500-$600 from eBay.

I couldn’t find a display for it on eBay here. Apple told me it needs a new display and motherboard, which would cost more than buying a new one. So I’m just gonna sell it.... I cannot believe how poor their support is. Every other hardware manufacturer has helped me at little cost, but not Apple, despite spending near 3000 on it.

I think I’m going to build a Windows PC instead. I’ve loved my Mac, but I’m not being treated like that by Apple.

Anyways thanks

I don't know where "here" is for you. Your 2015 Mac is covered under a 1 year warranty and you can add 2 more years to get a total of 3 years.

If the screen burn-in is the issue, I'm not sure why the logicboard would need to be replaced. Apple support would not be making such suggestions without first actually seeing the machine and diagnosing the issue.

Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do.

He's from the UK, so his warranty would be longer than that of ours here in the US. Even with the UK extended warranty, a 2015 iMac probably would no longer be covered.

If resident in the UK the iMac would likely be covered by European Consumer Law, if it was bought from Apple within the EU, and the owner was the original purchaser and it wasn't bought by a business. Aditionally the receipt/invoice would be required. Consumer Law claims are easy for an ARS or AASP to process.

who ever quoted you such a high bill was not telling the truth the display is what's needing replacement not the logic board as the display isn't married to the logic board in anyway.

chase apple again get them to at least look at the machine first.

and see what they say.

I sold it and using a Mac Mini with my own display now. The problem is I’m having constantly resetting on sleep issues with the Mac Mini and Apple keep saying it’s fine. I found out it’s a common issue.....

This will be my last Mac ever, I’m going back to using Windows full time.

What ever floats your boat Feriluce. but, I feel a longer honeymoon would have brought more satisfaction with Apple. As we used to say in HM Forces 'Nil Desperandum Carbarundum Illigitimii'. In other words "Do not despair and don't let the barstuwards Grind you down'. Good luck with Windows by the way.

Very best regards from Keith in Derby England.

I have a Mac Mini that usually runs for about 30-45 days between reboots due to an update or some other reason. If your Mac is rebooting during sleep, then you likely have an application that is misbehaving. This is easy enough to trace down if you are interested.
