When I log on, I want to automatically connect to a server where I have all my media stored, and have it represented as a desktop icon or a folder in Finder. Please?
I may not be understanding the question... but here goes...
Open a finder window.
Double click the Network Icon in the upper portion of the sidebar.
You should see any available drives on the network.
Double click the drive you'd like to connect to...
Then click "Connect"
You will be prompted to enter a User name and password. Enter the info FOR the drive you are connecting to... if no username or password just leave blank.
Click OK.
You should now be connected, and see the icon on your desktop.
You could just create an alias to it and leave that on the Desktop, then whenever you want to get something just open the alias and it will mount and open the drive.
