How can I reindex an external hard drive so it searches correctly?

I had a RAID 5. I copied the contents of that drive to a regular external hard drive. So, instead of being a RAID, it was a single drive.

Since then, when I search in the finder, the results are weird and wrong. It's giving me odd files directions and things that just aren't accurate. I want to reindex the drive so when I search in the finder window, it actually points me in the right direction.

I tried this solution - Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - but it didn't work.

Any suggestions? I'm running Big Sur 11.6

Unless it’s changed; "Go to System Preferences>Spotlight and select Privacy. Drag the hard drive icon into the Privacy pane and drop it there. Then, select it and click - to remove it from Privacy. Within a few moments, Spotlight will commence re-indexing the drive."
what this does is tell Spotlight not to search that EHD then removing it asks it to search it. This usually results in a new scan of the drive which should fix your problem. It might take a while to complete dependent on the quantity of data.

A Google search can be your friend, at least for normal drives:
Mac How can I reindex an external hard drive
Google Just like Rod suggested above.
q=mac+How+can+I+reindex+an+external+hard+drive&oq=mac+How+can+I+reindex+an+external+hard+drive&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60l2j0j69i64.5334j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

To include your RAID set ups, just modifify the Google search phrase a bit and include your Extertal Raid drives In the search phrase.
