High Def?

i have a MacBook and when i play 720p trailers they play fine. but when i try a full 720p movie or show i cant get it to play. does the macbook support hd?

what kind of movies are these (DVD's or downloaded and what format?) and what exactly do you mean by won't play?

downloaded, avi, and it'll start to play then it'll turn all white. here's the exact file name of one of em.
Heroes.S01E19.720p.HDTV.x264-CTU.avi 1.2 GB

You cannot talk about illegal activity, and that looks like an illegally download movie. Since it starts to play and goes white that probably means that it's a corrupt file. You can try playing it in a different application or you can find another file.
