No dooubt this has been covered before but I wish to find out more about deleted internet history (i have a mac book pro using safari). I know on a PC deleted history is stored on an index.dat file...........Is this the same as a Mac? I wish to permanently erase all traces of my internet history on my computer that I have already deleted and that is stored hidden in the harddrive. Is this possible to do so and if so please let me know how I can do this. The only internet answer I can find to this is 'reset safari' but im assuming this is not enough ................... Note that if you're running Lion or Mountain Lion, your user library folder is hidden. In order to gain access to it, click on the Finder top menu "Go" and then select "Go to folder" and enter "library".
