Hey guys I have just got back from work with my Mac.

When I was using it in work I switched off airport from the bar on the top right. But since I got home this icon has disappeared and the airport card won't switch on.

I have looking in system preferences in network and it will not let me do anything with the airport. Any ideas?

If it was loose then it wouldnt show up at all right?

Hi ???
When in the System Preferences did you click the "Lock" in the lower left corner? It will ask for your admin password, then "UN-lock" the preferences so you can make changes. There is also a place within the preferences to choose "Show Airport Status in Menu Bar" which will leave the Airport icon in the menu bar whether it is on or off.
