Help Please

I am trying to get Front Row to play music from the external hard drive. Not sure what files I need to move and to where, I have tried various combinations but with no luck so far.
Managed it with films by creating an ALIAS FOLDER which Front Row saw and this works. However I seem to be going around in circles trying to get music on the hard drive to play through Front Row. Don't really what to load up the Mac Mini'S hard drive with the music as there's quite a bit.
Any simple to follow instructions would be gratefully received.

Here's as simple as I know how to make it:

Use iTunes. Front Row will see any music in iTunes, regardless of where the iTunes Library is actually stored.
