Hi, ladies and gents.
I'm running a MacBook Pro, OS version 10.6.8. Yesterday my Mac decided to be huffy when I was playing music through my headphones, and stubbornly refused to allow any volume change. When I press the volume buttons on my keyboard, the little interface still show up with the volume symbol on it, and I can change it as I want -- but the volume doesn't change at all. Even when I mute the volume output, it comes out at the same level. I've also tried to change volume from the top bar and the sound preferences, but it's given me the same issue.
This happened both with my headphones and iPod earbuds, but not when no headphone-type device is plugged into the system. With just the built-in speakers, it functions as normal. Has anyone got any tips on how to resolve the issue?
EDIT: Wow, derp. I just realized this would probably count as a software issue... could a mod move it to the right place?
