Thanks guys - sadly, haven't even had time to turn the mac on this trip... 
Been out catching (or maybe I should say "trying to catch") perch in Ohio on Lake Erie. Leaving tomorrow for Missouri. Hopefully I can finally get some quality Mac time this coming part of the trip. I'm sure I will be embarrassed when I see the button, but I think what happened was that I was in finder rather than in itunes (I think, can't remember) - but what I did was to burn the disc from itunes, then I used something (again, can't remember) to look at what was on the disc - and tried to get it to open from wherever I was when looking at the contents of the disc... Maybe I wasn't in itunes at the time - at least that would make me not feel quite so foolish
