Top of the morning to ye.

We're headed out for the Ring of Kerry this morning and then back to Killarney in time for the St Paddy's day parade this afternoon.

I'm sure folks are gathering in the Town of Erin, about 20 miles from where I live. It's a small village, kind of a country estate setting. Of course, the streets have appropriately Irish names. The whole place is "going green" today!

Did discover, they don't say 'top of the morning' here.

They also do not have the custom of pinching those that don't wear green - definitely an american custom.

Headed off to the parade now.

Yeah, I'm very jealous right now. I have what feels like 50 things to do and it's only going to get busier. Thanks for reminding us of your trip. :p

Think those are all with the 450d.

The one of the countryside was taken while moving down the road at 60kmph.
Have a job when we get back home, over 1700 pics we took to wade thru - hoping I'll have 4-500 keepers in there.

Here's one my wife took with the G9 - just learned I have a bald spot back there.
This is the typical downtown look of all the towns we visited also.

Trust me, it's nicer to find out that way rather than find out looking in a mirror...in your 20s like yours truly.

I also forgot to pack any toothpaste for the trip. Luckily the hotel we stayed in the first night had some available in a vending machine of which I availed myself. Was only 2 Euros (equal to about $3). Thought I'd post a pic just for posterity. Here it is next to my 8GB flash drive and Nano just for some comparison.

WOW! Sure is a small thing of Toothpaste for $3! :D

I wonder if it's cheaper at a store there? Could just be the vending machine price is high.

Here in my area I can get a full sized tube of Crest (for an example) for $1.95 - $2.50.

Well, it did come with it's own little travelers case and a two piece toothbrush.

Well that is cool anyway. Do most hotels like that have toothpaste? I ask because I have never traveled except in California and never really stayed in a good hotel.

I am sure just like connivence stores, you pay for the connivence also.

Don't know, we've never stayed in any 4 and 5 star hotels before either. 2 of the 4 we stayed in had that typical vending machine. Stayed in one 5 star hotel, and besides the outward high dollar use of materials for flooring, walls, etc; the room amenities were not nearly as nice as one of the 3 star hotels we stayed in.

The 5 star had no coffee pot, had a 19" CRT TV, and no coffee pot. Did have a large bathroom with a small Jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. Once in the shower, if you dropped the miniature bottle of shampoo, you had to open the door and step out of it to pick it up. It did have free wi-fi and they certainly laid out an exquisite breakfast and dinner. You could call for room service and get coffee delivered in a silver service with crumpets though and for free.

The 4 star we stayed at the last night in Dublin was very nice, located directly across the street from the 82,000 seat rugby stadium. It had a coffee pot, iron and presser, coffee pot, hair dryer, 24" LCD TV, coffee pot, a stereo with CD player, wi-fi and wired ethernet in the room.

Guess you can tell where my priorities are when my feet swing over the edge of the bed in the morning. Of course, we didn't spend much time in the hotel anywhere we stayed except to get in late and out early.
