I have a MacBook Pro (late 2012 model) running Yosemite beta 3. I love the hand-off feature enabling me to make calls from the laptop through my new iPhone 6.

I run a software database developed from a website called TntMPD. Through this database it gives me the opportunity to use a "callto" handler which normally would use Skype. Skype has been terrible to me recently by low volume on mics and bad connections. The new hand-off feature led me to try to make calls through the FaceTime hand-off. However, we can not get the "callto" handler to activate the FaceTime feature. What is the work around for this or what setting(s) do I need to adjust to get this to work?

Apple is not, at present, open to this idea, so I doubt the API is going to offer what you need. At present, at least, Handoff seems to work primarily for genuine phone calls only (FaceTime calls have been handled by iMessage for some time now, so automatically sync to all devices using iMessage if they've been set up to accept calls from that number/email/ID).

I'm not sure what you mean by this. The database we have consists of only genuine phone numbers just like a phone number on Yelp or anything else.
