Pages allows simple graphic shapes, fill colors or images, lines and text boxes to be placed on a document.I have observed that after a certain number of graphic items have been placed on a new document....estimating about 30......the ability to move items on the surface is slowed considerably. I have a 6 GB 2010 Imac.
I am guessing that this is a very limited software application and this is somehow a result of it's simplicity? Please advise.

The fault may not be with Pages but rather it might be you're running short on memory. Which 2010 iMac do you have? The 2010 came with an ATI Radeon GPU with either 256 MB or 512 MB of VRAM. A large document with around 30 graphic items could be using quite a bit of graphic memory. And whenever you move a graphic item that also incurs memory usage.

Thanks for your prompt reply.......I am sure you are correct. I double checked my equipment and its from 2008 / Graphics ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT 128 MB. Its surprising I have been able to do what I have thus far.
Rather than upgrade this item [if possible] sounds like its time for new IMac.
