Hi everyone! In the last couple of weeks I have noticed a major drop in performance of my Macbook while running certain processes. The problem started occurring 7 weeks ago and is becoming a little worse each day.
7 weeks ago everything was still working perfectly and smooth. I am running the following setup: I have two HP Z24N external monitors connected to my macbook Pro with HDMI (both Displays have separate spaces). I use the Mac Magic keyboard and trackpad which are both connected with Bluetooth. Usually, I have an active Skype session 2 hours a day. However, I started noticing the following performance drops in the last 7 weeks:
Any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys!

- 7 weeks ago I noticed that my MacBook performance drastically decreases while Skyping with my colleagues
- 5 weeks ago I noticed that the laptop becomes very slow when connected to both external monitors. Therefore, I decided to unplug one of the two monitors.
- 3 weeks ago, doing any other tasks on the laptop while Skyping is near to impossible. The laptop becomes extremely hot, therefore I made the decision to join the Skype session with my IPhone instead.
- 1 week ago, I had to unplug both external monitors. If I connect my MacBook to one of the external monitors for the first three minutes everything is OK. However, after let's say 5 minutes the laptops performance drastically decreases. After about 10 minutes kernal_task(0) (used to prevent the Macbook from overheating) starts to take up > 100% of the CPU. Meaning that even the simplest task are impossible to do on the Macbook.
Any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys!
