Gmail/Mac Mail 3.6 Problem

About 2 months ago ( I think) my gmail account on mac mail stopped working as it wouldn't send out any emails, I've tried fixing it but nothing has worked. It says the server isn't responding and I've tried to troubleshoot it but nothing works....

Does anyone know why this is happening?
