That's really good news Ann, it must be one of the few times I can recall where upgrading a macOS actually fixed something.
Given the majority of your issues are fixed I don't think there's any need to Migrate again even if the data is not exactly the same on each, that's going to happen anyway. Assuming it causes no problems.

As for creating a second user on your old device for your husband, good idea but I'm not sure about the password concern. If he used iCloud sync default options on the 2014 iMac they will include Safari, Mail, Contacts etc. When he logs into his Apple account on your old device everything should sync across. Or did iiss something?

Hi Rod,

actually I missed something, in that I neglected to mention that he didn’t use iCloud, period. I created a user for him already on my old device, which involved signing in to Apple ID, and the Safari bookmarks were the standard Apple-provided ones. However, he does have several items stored in Dashlane, just not all of them, so it should be fairly easy to restore them to the new/old device.

It certainly is one of the big advantages of a free syncing service. Does the old 2014 iMac still work? If so it's not too late to turn on iCloud and allow the data from the 2014 iMac to upload.
