Generic 3 button mouse - button change

Hi again. Can't seem to find where to start a new topic, and have searched existing threads for my question. Just said goodbye to my ancient Mighty Mouse and got a generic three-button. The scroll wheel is also the middle button. Is there a way to select what that middle button does ? Out of the box, it toggles me to my Dashboard, which I seldom see. Can I make it open my browser ?

Moved your post here and gave it a title. For a new topic:

1. Choose proper forum

2. Click on the "+ Post New Thread Button" (Blue color top left side)

And to answer...
Use an app like SteerMouse or USBOverdrive, which put a preference pane in System Preferences. Use it instead of the Mouse prefs.
Much more control over the mouse and you can remap buttons.
