The G5 is out and shipping. I'd like to hear from all the new G5 owners how things are going. Notice any huge speed increases? Any problems? And has anyone downloaded the Adobe Photoshop update/plugin that is enhanced for the G5?

Just ordered a 1.6GHz G5 today from MacZone. They gave me 512MB RAM free for a total of 768MB RAM. They said it is shipping from Ohio and should be here this weekend since I'm in Harrisburg, PA. Office is closed this weekend so I should have it monday or tuesday. Can't wait to play. Don't have the money for the dual but this will be a nice upgrade from my 300MHz beige G3.

Congrats, dziner on your purchase. You will sure see a difference between your old hardware and your G5.

Now, how can I get one. Looks like I will have to ask my friends for a two hundred dollar gift (each). By Christmas I should have enough money.

I'm a new purchaser of the G5 1.8GHz. It's awesome, I made a post somewhere, i still haven't been able to test it's power. But from what I've used, it's awesome!

I received my 1.6GHz G5 monday. Took me about 10 minutes to set it up, transfered my Mail, Safari, and Address book folders and everything worked flawlessly. Hopefully tonight I will have Photoshop installed with the G5 Plug-in and see just how fast this machine cooks! Also visiting a friend this evening and taking a CAT5-e crossover cable so I can see how fast we can share files from my G5 to his G4. I love it!

G5's have Gigabit ethernet ports, so if the G4 has a Gigabit ethernet port, I'd say it's gonna smoke

Awesome! I can't wait to see just how fast these files transfer. Now I need to purchase an Ethernet card to install into my Beige G3 so I can connect to that to get some of my old files. The built-in ethernet doesn't work. Anyone know of a card that has OS X drivers for it? I plan on keeping it around for my daughter to play on. And I think my Mac needs a friend.
