Hey guys,

don't really use the portability of this macbook pro much anymore, so i'm looking to sell it. Want to upgrade to a nice desktop instead with a bigger screen and a quad core processor. This is one of the brand new unibody macbook pros that was released in the middle of last year. I bought it the first week they were announced, so it still has close to 6 months left in the warranty, and the extended apple care can still be purchased for this laptop through july or august of this year.

Specs:
2.53 ghz Core 2 Duo
250 GB HDD
4 GB DDR3 RAM

I also have the latest version of Snow Leopard installed, and will do a fresh reformat before sending out the computer. Will also install iWork 09 if you want it on there (pages, numbers, keynote). And I also have a 1tb laCie external HDD I would include for fairly cheap... works great if you have a lot of music, hd movies, or want a nice external for time machine (highly recommended!!). I also have a nice neoprene case/sleeve I will throw in!

Here are some pics.....

Well i'm very interested and would like to offer but first would like to know how you rate this on usage. Like on a scale from 1 to 10, how new this l laptop still is.

I would say it is a 9/10. Nothing wrong with it at all, I take really good care of my computers, always have it in a case when traveling around, etc. Screen is perfect, nothing wrong with keyboard or any of the ports, etc. Only reason I wouldn't give it a 10/10 is because on the bottom of the laptop there are some minor scratches from setting the laptop on various surfaces over the months. Obviously a little dirt here and there setting it down on a table any laptop is gonna get a little scratched, but I can't even see the scratches with the camera, and they are hardly noticeable. Who stares at the bottom of their laptop anyways?

Also, I will be reformatting the computer before sending it out so you will receive it in basically the same condition as if you purchase from the apple store. Even have the original box, all manuals and discs etc that it will be shipped in. This is a great deal if you are looking to get a new mbp on the cheap!

Thanks!

Is this the version with the removable battery and hard drive?

NM - I did my research. This does not have the removable hard drive and battery if it is the mid-2009 version.

PM sent!

Can you send me pics of the scratches on the bottom? I know Apple can be really picky when it comes to warranties if there's any cosmetic damage whatsoever.

Thanks,
Brad

I've got 2 PM's regarding the integrity of this seller...Well, the communication is OK..(once a day)...but its taking a bit long on shipping the item. There seems to be a delay on his end with paypal to his bank account. apparently it takes approx. 4 days for funds to appear in his account. I've been with paypal for years now and I've never heard of this. hmmmmm

if this is the norm with paypal and if I'm out of line I will apologize...

i do believe that is normal on certain types of transfers. If it was a bank transfer or CC transfer, there is a waiting period. I think it's only instant if you are transferring funds that are already in your Paypal account balance.

hope it works out!

It depends on your method of payment through PayPal. If you use a checking account or credit card, it should be instant. If you pay with an e-check, it does take time to clear.

he got the funds instantly from me.. it took him about 4-5 days to transfer the funds from his paypal account to his bank acct.
I was hoping that he would have shipped the item by now......will see.

Here are paypal withdraw options :

Options Processing Time Cost
Withdraw funds to your bank account 3-4 business days Free!
Request a check from PayPal 5 - 10 Days $1.50 USD
Shop with a PayPal debit card Instant
(once you get a card) Get cash back!
Get cash out of an ATM Instant $1.00 USD
Shop anywhere online with the PayPal Plug-In Instant Free!
Shop special offers with PayPal Instant Free!

While theres no way for me to confirm whether or not he's lien , I can tell you that as long as you sent the payment , he shouldn't have to wait for the funds to clear his account . When selling something and using paypal as the method of payment , as long as the seller follows guidelines then he will be safe on his end , regardless of what the buyer does . In the end , my whole point of saying that is , I'm not sure why he would say it had to clear his account , unless of course you sent an payment that took a few days to clear into his actual paypal account . If it was instant transfer from checking , credit card or paypal balance then it should of been cleared for shipping immediately . Good luck .

P.S - sometimes payment will be put on hold ( for the seller ) and it will take about 24 hours to clear , this is of course a security measure that paypal has in place .
