Frustrated with Clean My MacX issue

Yes ditto Ian's comment. Seems okay to me. It's not an uncommon request from an app developer to view the error log.

As for your issue with the "Failed" Verify and Repair Time Machine Backup process, were you experiencing a problem with your TM backup or did you just decide to run it as maintenance check? If you had a problem it may just be that CMMX was unable to repair it.
As I stated earlier I am surprised that CMMX is able to repair Time Machine backups at all due to the unique and complicated structure of TM.

The only way I know of to repair a TM backup is to erase and reformat the external drive and create a new one. This does seem to happen from time to time, especially where TM backups span years and consecutive macOS upgrades. eg High Sierra > Mojave > Catalina.
Personally I create a new TM backup after each macOS upgrade, keeping my CCC copy for about a month in case I need to revert to the previous macOS.

Hi, thanks for the info. My TM backup drive wasn't having a problem, to my knowledge, and I simply wanted to run the verify/check permissions son the TM since it was an option CMMX task list so I tried running it. I was a bit perplexed as to why it failed. I have checked the TM drive with other apps, including Disk First Aid and Tech Tool Pro 12. It has been running fine (knock wood) for several years. But after the CMMX test failed, I became concerned that there was something wrong. Doesn't appear to be the case now.

I forgot to add something that you may be interested in using rather than CMM or OnyX:

We sometimes recommend running a program named "EtreCheck.app". It has proved to be valuable in detecting problems regarding system files and other things that can cause errors or slowdowns. The program is free in its standard format and very easy to use. I'll leave it up to you, however, to try it out.

Thanks very much for that tip. I will check it out. I've got Onyx now and seems to be working ok. Not as elegant as CMMX but does the job. I'll have a look at Etre Check.

As I said CMMX worked fine on my TM backup although I'd never used it for that task before so I'm trying to think what might be the difference between your situation and mine.
My backup is of Catalina only, while you say your backup is a few years old so does it span two ore more Operating Systems? Is your external HD very large? Mine is 1Tb.
