After downloading I get "There is no application set to open the document watch.7" All downloads are "watch.x" or "url.x" file names and I can not select an application which will open them. I have FOLX GO ver 4.2
With purchased Download Manager
OS X El Captain ver 10.11.4
Safari ver 9.1

I don't use FOLX GO because I don't need it (you don't really need it, either), but from what I read, it downloads in parts and when all the parts are in place, reassembles the file from the parts. So "watch.7" is one part of a file that will eventually be called "watch" but which won't exist until all the other parts are available and reassembled. So you need to wait for FOLX GO to finish it's work before you try to open the downloaded files.

The same sort of thing happens natively, BTW, but the files are named "xxxx.part" until the download is completed. Then the .part files are deleted and the original file left.

You said , I don't need a download scheduler? What can I use? I have data limits and want to schedule downloads for 2 a.m. - 8 a.m. I thought I needed a separate download scheduler to pull files from Safari.
And it appears that the complete file IS being downloaded. (I checked file sizes) So "watch.7" is not a part of the file, it's the whole thing. I just can't get any application to open it.
thanks for your help.

davisstevenb, have a look at iGetter, the site looks a bit old occasioned but it claims to work for OSX 10.2 - 10.11 and it sounds like it would suit your needs perfectly.

PS I tried Folx years ago and was extremely unimpressed but at that time Speed Download was still available so I went that way (despite the cost). Back then I was struggling with a totally unreliable internet service which would regularly drop out at about 80% completion.
These days we apparently all have high speed broadband with unlimited downloads.;D

The reason you cannot open the file named "watch.7" is that ".7" is not an extent that any application uses. If you think "watch.7" is the entire file, you can try renaming it to be what the original filename was and see if you can open it then. Sounds like FOLX GO is mucked up. As Rod said, these days most folks have high speed connections and unlimited downloads, so thinks that schedule downloads are becoming rare.

Here's the response from Eltima Tech Support
'Please note that Folx requires a direct link to the file in order to
download it. In this case the link you used is to Google's search
results, that's why Folx is not able to download it, as it is not a link
to the file. In order to download this image with Folx, you need to
right-click on the image, choose 'Copy Image Location' option and then
paste it into “Quick Add” dialog of Folx.
The thing is that this link is not a direct link to the PDF file, too.
It is the link to the website Archaeology Data Service,
that's why Folx can not download the required file. If you open the
downloaded file with TextEdit, then you will see that Folx downloaded an
html file of this website home page.
Also, I'd like to draw your attention to the fact that Folx GO doesn't
feature downloading videos from Youtube due to the MAS restrictions.
Please, see the description here:
Folx

YouTube downloads are supported with the PRO version of Folx that we
distributed through our website. You can find more information about it
here: Folx: Free Download Manager for Mac

If you need to download videos from Youtube, I can offer you a 50%
discount on a license for the Folx PRO version, if you send me a
screenshot from your Purchase History confirming Folx GO purchase.” Kate Gardner Outlook – free personal email and calendar from Microsoft

Try again using either of these two sites:

and use their link to get it at the Apple Store

or
sing their safe download link option.

Or was your recent post you're actually from a Spammer/Bot as the original thread was from back in the 2016 era, several years ago now...???
