Hello all - I bought a new iPad air 5 and when taking a picture discovered there is no flash option. Well, there is one when I do "selfie" mode but all that does is brightens the screen and then snaps the picture. Also there isn't an icon in Control Panel nor is there an option to add it there. I tried one of the "Flashlight" apps but that only turns on the screen and not the led under the camera lens. Any ideas if or how I can get the thing to work?

Reading the tech specs at apple ( iPad Air - Technical Specifications ) I think what you are calling "led under the camera lens" is actually a microphone, not an LED for flash. From the specs, there does not seem to be a flash for the back camera at all.

By golly you are correct. I thought it was pretty tiny but leds aren’t big to begin with. And I can always edit any photos that need more brightness and/or exposure. Thanks for the response.

Just as a subscript for those considering iPads; the iPad Pro does have a flash option with controls the same as an iPhone - "Off", "Auto" "On".
