Flash memory in Nano

Is there a pro to this unlike the use of a hard drive? I remember a while back there was a thread where members were listing the pros and cons of the Nano compared to the regular iPod, and someone had the flash memory of a Nano as a pro. Just curious, thanks!

there's no read head on flash memory (that can damage the surface of a disk).
flash uses less energy.
flash is smaller (unless you go to extremes, like adding 120Gb of flash memory in 4Gb increments).

i'm sure there's more, but that was what struck me off the top of my head.

hard drives are cheaper per Gb than flash at this time too.

It cant skip with flash memory, so if you use the iPod more for sports then it would benefit to have flash over HDD. Also it can take more abuse because there are no moving parts to damage.

With flash memory you don't have to worry about hard drive read heads smacking into the platters when doing vigorous activity, which is a possibility with the larger capacity ipods because they have hard drives.
