Why would I suddenly be receiving this message when I want to save an item to my Flash Drive?
The volume “Original Flash Drive” is read only.

The most likely reason is that the directory has been damaged from improperly pulling out the thumb drive without properly ejecting it, if you've been using it before normally and it's only just now doing this.

Otherwise, you or someone may have formatted it in a Windows machine to be NTFS, which Macs can't natively write to.

Just found out that if I use Safari I can save to my flash drive. Using Firefox, I can't. This is all new!

A web browser has absolutely nothing to do with moving files onto a flash drive. You'd probably best explain what you are actually trying to do, because your post above doesn't make any sense at present.
