FIX Coffee Spilled on MacBook

Need help, have a MacBook (plastic casing) and minor coffee spill occurred. Everything still working fine (After spill, battery was taken out to drain spill) but the trackpad doesn't allow me to click but the mouse still moves.

What are the steps to fix this? I would like a DIY method...

When it comes to coffee there is no such thing as a 'minor' spill they all be major trouble!
