Could you please suggest some powerful replacement for Finder?
The only app that was suggested which will show hidden files and folders is muCommander. None of the Finder replacements or add ons that I know of have the ability to do formatting. You're just going to have to get used to doing things the Mac way and use Disk Utility from your Applications, Utilities, folder.
Xtrafinder can add a "show Hidden Items" to Finder's View menu. I think TotalFinder can too?
As far as Disk Utility, that's the way Unix/Linux/BSD works. It's modular, as opposed to monolithic. If you were in Terminal, each command is a separate program (mostly, some are shell commands). Same with the GUI. While there are some apps which try to do everything, having a modular system works better, and is faster.
How often do you format flash drives?
Another part that sucks is CUT is disabled for files,)

I guess that wouldn't necessarily be obvious to the user. Who goes around timing how long things take and comparing the results to a log of the same operation(s) on a different system?
That feature is part of TotalFinder - not sure about the other finder alternatives but cut and paste for files works
