I let my brother use my macbook, and now my finder seems to have changed. It now looks like this:

But I want it to look how it originally did, it was something like this: (obviously not this though, this is a save window):

How would I go about getting it back?

Thanks,

Dan.

Too many devices to list
Can I assume you mean the hidden files as being visible? If so, open up Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/) and type in the following:
Code:
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
After entering that, press enter. That's part one - to finish, you have to restart Finder. Again in the Terminal, type the following:
Code:
killall Finder
Hit enter and you should be good to go.

1. Don't let anyone use your machine while logged into your user account. Create a guest account for them to use if you continue allowing them to use your machine.

2. Open up Finder / Preferences / Sidebar tab and put the checkmark back in whatever you want to be shown in the sidebar.

Sorry didn't explain well.

Before he used it it used to have the little icons down the left like in the second picture (Desktop etc.) but now I just have what's on the top picture. If that makes sense.

Are you talking about the area where there are back and forth icons and the search function area, etc? If so then press the horizontal silver oval button on the top right.

That would be me. ;D Don't think I've clicked on that button in 2 years.
I pretty much never use it too. The only time I'm reminded about it is when people ask about it on forums. :)
