File Storage on SSD/HDD iMac help

I just finished installing a 128gb SSD drive along side of the 1tb drive that came in my 27" iMac. It was easy to find "how to's" on the actual installation but I haven't found any help in the file management side.

I've to it running with OSX on the SDD and I've gotten my files (pictures, music, videos) on the HDD. What I need to know is how to make the any new files automatically (ha!) be saved onto the HDD. Or, is any further work even necessary?

For those interested, I bought a Plextor (PX-128M2S) 128gb sataIII at newegg last week when it was on sale for $174 shipped.

Did you properly move your home folder to the HDD or did you just drag and drop data over to it?

Have a read here - try google and read a few more and have it clear what you're doing before you give it a go.

And of course, have a backup first also.

I found this one....

but when I try to do the ln -s /Macintosh HD/Movies

it doesn't work. I think it's because of the space in the HDD name "Macintosh HD". It was default that way from Apple. I could easily copy my files off and then erase and rename it if that is necessary.

What I had done in the interm was create a bunch of "alias" and place them in /SDD/Users/Kevin/Documents that pointed to /Macintosh HD/...

I don't really know what the terminal command "ln -s" means and if it is the only way to do what I'm trying. If you can help me, I'd really appreciate it.
