Few questions

First, how do I remove icons from the programs bar on the bottom of the screen? Also, how do I clean up my desktop? I'm talking about the icons below the mac hd icon. I downloaded a few programs and I already have 4 icons below the hd icon, is there anyway to make it so they don't show up there after downloading something? Also, this is an iTunes question. I have my entire library in my pc, and in my ipod, how do I transfer it to my macbook pro?

If by "programs bar" you mean the dock, just drag them off -- they will go "poof". Those are just aliases to the actual programs and won't affect the programs at all.

For your desktop, after you have downloaded and installed the software, you can just drag those icons to the trash can. They are the disk image files and once they are in your applications, you don't need them.

Try a software called Senuti to transfer your music from your iPod to your computer. Other options are out there, and I'll defer to somebody who knows more about that than I do.

Try a software called Senuti to transfer your music from your iPod to your computer. Other options are out there, and I'll defer to somebody who knows more about that than I do.

Senuti is the way to go - just don't let your Mac format the iPod when you plug it in. Copy your music off it, then add it to your iTunes library.

I think that you have not really installed the programs but are running them from their downloaded .dmg which mounted.
