Can anyone please tell me what memory the Monterey upgrade will take up over the Big Sur?
From what I'm reading sounds like what you're concerned about is storage space (RAM & "memory" are the same thing..."memory" is not storage space).Hello, I guess from what you both say, there is no problem with Ram or Memory. It is just that I object to adding all that fancy stuff that I will never need on Monterey.
I have recently updated to Monterey from Big Sur and I am bound to say that the fancy stuff you are expecting from Monterey is pretty much already there in your installation of Big Sur!I object to adding all that fancy stuff that I will never need on Monterey.

I just didn't want my computer suddenly slowing down because of the size of the upgrade.

I know that my Mac will run Monterey but I shall wait for a short while to hear if there are any problems with it.
Here is a page listing some Monterey issues:
The current list of macOS Monterey problems includes severe battery drain, Wi-Fi issues, UI lag, crashes, issues with first and third-party apps, installation issues, Bluetooth problems, and more.
Some of these problems are brand new, others have carried over from previous version(s) of macOS like macOS Big Sur and macOS Catalina.
Brian, just to add to that can I just say, I'm running Monterey on a 2015 MacBook Pro and my impression is that it runs smoother and if anything faster then Big Sur.Thanks everyone for the replies. Brian
