Can I extend the timing on notifications? I find I would like longer to check them before they disappear.

To see them for as long as you want, click on the icon on the far right end of the top menu bar. It looks like a bulleted list. That will let you see in the drop down all the notifications you have received. To get rid of the list, click anywhere on the desktop and it disappears from view.

That's true I forgot about that. I am hoping for a preference panel on the timing.
Thanks tho.

Thanks ferrarr. I selected banner. Hopefully that is the trick. Good to know the other stuff on the link.

I found an alternate solution.

I downloaded Deeper from the folks who make Onyx http://www.titanium.free.fr/deeper.html and in deeper under Notifications there is a Banner Display delay adjuster slider. Also in there is a turn off selection for the startup sound. I have another app "Startup Sound" but it doesn't work with Sierra.

I always thought Onyx was the combination of Deeper and Maintenance? Those options may be available within the different tabs of Onyx.

Glad you found a solution for your issue.

Probably true as I did notice some things were available in both. I didn't check closely.
