I have had a Western Digital 120 GB hard drive for a while now, but haven't used it much. The other day I found it, and formatted it to FAT32. I copied some movies over to free up space on my Mac Mini's HDD. After a bit, some of them started failing, saying some of the file could not be read or written, then the drive would appear empty and refuse to eject. I would unplug it, click ok at the error message, and remount it to see the partial file there. I retried several times, but it's spotty and only works maybe a quarter of the time. Any help is greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that it's using USB, and I've already tried different cable/port combinations. Also the drive sometimes sounds a bit strange when it fails, but I've watched several of the movies that were successfully copied to the drive, and they play flawlessly.
