Epson Stylus Photo R2000 connect problem?

Do you have Printer Sharing enabled on any computer connected on your home network?

There are just the 2 systems, imac and MBP and neither has had printer sharing and when I was going through all of the checks on the iMac, when it was still operating and before it failed, it didn't matter if it was on or off. I tried both and they were the same.

I would assume that the printer being connected directly to the router via the RJ47 ethernet cable the same as the 2 Macs it was just another item and available to anything on the home network as long as they have the driver for it.

I was just wondering, since the were all ethernet connected, if the iMac took precedent in controlling the printer functions, because Printer Sharing was enabled?

You are welcome Bob. I don't imagine that either had precedence over the other. Just first served and the other has to wait?

Is the message showing in the Default Printer menu significant maybe? See if anything else listed there - ie, the correct name of the printer.
Is the dock showing the printer in use? Try another print and open from the dock, maybe there is a job you can cancel.

I would imagine they probably have their problem sorted out by now, but I just thought I would mention it.

Hmmm...??? Not exactly an exciting or an original fix... shutdown and reboot. A good solution for many problems I'd say...
