Email text suddenly in illegible code

When I reopened iMail, after a restart, it had a new layout and some old emails and new ones appeared in a code like this:

Try using the Mail.app "Rebuild" option on the mailbox that's having this problem.

Then quit and restart Mail, just in case.

Man, you're just catching all kinds of grief aren't you Roger?
That Base64 is how Mail, and other apps send pics over the net. You're just not supposed to see it.
Try rebuilding like pm-r said and see if that helps.

I'm glad to hear the mailbox rebuild worked and maybe the Mac or something just burped or gagged on something.
