eMac Blackedge

My family is considering buying an eMac or an iMac(when the new ones arrive)and I had some simple question:

When I go to the Apple Stores or compusa, I normally see a black edge around the screen(like unused screen space) , is this normal?

Yes. This is normal with CRT screens. You can usually adjust the picture area to eliminate the black band using the monitor control panel. However, you may get some distortion in the cornors and edges.

its there in my emac, you can very well use the whole screen without to much problem
