I want to edit my movies, i'd normally use premiere Pro but don't have it at the minute, it appears that iMovie does not support my Nikon D7100 .MOV movies?

I really want a simple no fuss way to do some simple editing..

What's my best way..

I can't believe how difficult this is in the modern world that we live in

What's my best bet here guys?

You couldn't be further from the truth. I edit my D7100 movies in iMovie all the time.....

What version OS are you running ? Are you up to date with your Camera RAW Updates even though that shouldn't matter because you are working with .mov files, and iMovie supports .mov files.

EDIT: My bad, the Nikon D7100 shoots video in mpeg4 format. The extension is .MOV, and the listed format in Aperture is listed as H.264, 1920x1080, 24fps. Check out the supported cameras here iMovie ~ Supported camera's

How do import?
iMovie may not recognise it as a camcorder. Can you import from the camera into iPhoto? Does your camera icon appear on the desktop when connected? If so, can you go down through the card file structure then drag and drop your movies into Finder?

Something is wrong somewhere. It isn't difficult trust me, because as I said, I can import my D7100 movies to edit in iMovie on my iPad or MBP. I would of been busting myself to work out whats up, then trying to download something else, because iMovie has some great transitions, templates and is so easy to use.
