As the subject says, and is it just me, but the edit option has suddenly disappeared from all my posts when I am logged in.

Is this a new feature of the forums???

Yes I have restarted my iMac and logged in again.

The Edit option is seen on all my current posts, Patrick.

Strange that it should be missing from all your posts. Maybe a Report to the Admin/Mods might allow them to sort this out.

Full honours to you - you have already done all the right things:)(y)

This is what I'm seeing as of this AM, Aug 6.

No sign of the Edit option that usually sits at the bottom and did yesterday...

Gheese... No sooner do I post my #3 message above and the EDIT option button shows when the page reloads.

I guess there was a hiccup and burp at the server end or something to cause the short lapse.

So everything back to a working state.

Sorry for the panic alarm...

Edit is only there AFTER you post the reply. I see the "Attach Files" box while still editing and I noted it was in your screenshot, so maybe it was not a problem, just you had not posted?

Thanks Jake, but the reason I noticed the edit option was missing was because I wanted to correct something onwhat I had just recently finished posting.

It seems to be back and working as I expect and as it had done previously.

OK, so the screenshot didn't match what you really saw. The screenshot was from before posting, when the "Attach files" is there. The "edit" appears later. Just repeating that for anybody who comes to this thread later on.

Actually, the screenshot that I posted was actually as I was seeing it and taken after I had posted, when the Edit option was not available to me.

But for whatever reason, it is now working as I expected and as it used to work.

Nick

Thanks for that info Nick, I wasn't really aware of that I don't think.

But if I ever need to do some editing on any post I make, I would normally have done it well before that time had expired. That's almost another day in computer time... ;-)

Exactly. I'm going to guess many/most members edit their posts within minutes...or less than an hour.:)

Of course as with anything there are exceptions.
