Would you consider and even trade for a Black MacBook (2.4C2D, 250gb HD, 4GB RAM), a 24" Samsung LCD Monitor, Bluetooth Keyboard and Mighty Mouse?

MB is about 4 months old, and monitor is about 3.

Thats actually not a very good trade, as that's some major downgrading of hardware except for the monitor. Besides, I'm a gamer and Apple doesn't have any notebooks that are even just decent for gaming. So I'm actually getting a Windows laptop. Specifically, the "Gateway P-173XL FX." No deal.

Hah, yeah a "no thanks" would have worked.

Hope you find what you are looking for.

I have a P-6831 FX, very nice machine. However I am getting out of gaming.

Thats actually a not very good price too :D

Refurbs cost less than your 9 months old Imac. You might want to lower your asking price by few $$$ if u want to sell it.

I didn't think I was being rude, but if I was then I'm sorry. I looked at the refurbished iMacs though, and they really don't cost any less than mine. The most expensive refurbished 24" iMac at Apple.com is $100 more than mine and has half the memory and half the hard drive.

http://store.apple.com/ca/product/FB325LL/A - $1649

Upgrade the HD and Memory for maybe an additional $200 which puts it $50 above your asking price. As someone else suggested, you may want to reconsider lowering your asking price if you're looking to sell it sooner than later.

Well here is how I worked out my selling price. I went to the Apple site and configured a new iMac with the exact same tech specs as the one I have now. A new iMac with the exact same specs as mine costs $2,300. I knocked $500 off, which I think is pretty good. Using the same method, I figured that upgrading an iMac with 2GB-Memory/320GB-Drive to an iMac with 4GB-Memory/1000GB-Drive would actually cost $500. Based on that, I'd say $1,900 would be an ideal value for mine and the ideal starting price $1,800.

Your calcutaions are way off. nobody buys ram from apple its way over priced. 4GB of ram costs about $60. Hard drive costs $200 total $260 not $500. you can also sell original drive and memory and you'll get around $100 or so back so your total is $160 for an upgrade. don't forget the main point, your imac as soon as it left apple store took a depreciation hit and its a big one. in my opinion you have to price yours at least $100 - $200 less of what refurb costs if you want to sell it. nobody is going to buy it for more money than new one

Hey Nathan,

I am not sure if you can send private message here (could not figure it out - I am new here). Anyway, have you considered adding Applecare to add another 2 yrs warranty on it in order to boost your chances of selling it?....

If so, I am selling an Applecare plan I purchased but never used. Let me know.

Peace!
