- You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
- You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

MacTheRipper, Mediafork, Handbrake, all are decent free options.. you can find them at www.macupdate.com or www.versiontracker.com

The real question is, what do you want to do?
Do you want to rip and then burn back to a DVD? The TOAST is what you want.
Do you want to rip to watch on your Mac, iPod or AppleTV? The HANDBRAKE is what you want.

imtoo is not free.. it looks like it runs around $90+
all the information I have gathered on imtoo says its windows only..
maybe the OP that suggested this has an intel mac and runs it via windows?
