Sometimes, when I am adding songs to iTunes, the songs will be in the library twice, even three times. Why does this happen and how do I prevent.
Also,I have some mp3's that iTunes will not add to the library. Finally, why are artists names sometimes ignored by iTunes and sent to the bottom of the library, down below "z"?

When adding a folder that has an M3U file, duplicates will be added. No idea why. Just delete the M3U file.

iTunes reads the metadata of the file to populate the Library fields. Try editing the metadata.

Metadata is nothing but data about data. In your case this implies the information about your song like artists, composer, etc.

In iTunes, right click (or control click if no second mouse button) on a song or group of songs and select Get Info.

Viola,....metadata, ripe for the editing
