I actually have a k700i too, with the D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth dongle which I upgraded with Apple's Bluetooth firmware updater. It worked fine with 10.3.9 aand still does with Tiger...the issue must be somewhere else...
Do you have internal Bluetooth, or an external USB-Bluetooth-dongle?
If it is an external one, it should be connected directly to your Mac, not over a hub, as that might create some problems.

I never had a problem with my k700i too until I did the firmware update on it. It stopped working after the update. I use a the same d-link bluetooth dongle and it connects directly, not through a hub.

After the setup utility has run, the 2 are paired - meaning regardless of whether they are currently connected, they'll remember each other in the future.
To sync, just activate bluetooth on both of them and start iSync. It should automatically connect them again and sync everything.

People, thanks for your help, it's greatly appreciated!

Aptmunich, you're right. After the setup utility has run the two devices are actually paired. I just need to turn on Bluetooth on the cell phone and then
click "sync now" on my Mac, then the 2 start to talk to each other and actually synchronize the address books.

Not that I need to do it anymore, but if I try to setup the cell phone again as described in my first post, I still lose the connection after point 7. ... maybe if/when I install Tiger the problem will be solved.

By the way, my bluetooth is internal.

Thanks again folks. :mac:

I have another question as this point. I'd like to use my T637 cell phone as a "presenter" in Bluetooth mode, i.e. I'd like to use it to switch between slides (PDF, Powerpoint, whatever) during a presentation. I've heard that it's possible... have any of you tried it?

I was wondering if I can somehow connect my Motorola Razr V3 phone to my itunes collection and even connect it to have some ring tones?

Thanks for any info.

Lets see...firstly, as fas as i know, its not possible to connect any phone directly to itunes and download songs from it. Secondly, the motorola razr has only 8mb of memory (or around that, quite small) so you would be able to fit only about 2 full songs on it. What i do instead is I use this application called Audacity which can edit mp3s. I use it to cut the song to make it only 30secs long (long enough for a ringtone) and then send it to my phone via bluetooth. (Thats what i did for my friends who have that phone. I personally use a sony ericsson z800i) Thats the best way i can think of. Do a google search for "audacity for mac os x" and you should find it. Neat app.
